Whole Family Learning

Okehampton College is continuing to work alongside Adult Community Learning and delivering a range of what they hope will be useful and enjoyable courses.  The courses are free of charge.  In particular they are able to offer the following at this point in time.

Family First Aid: This will run for 5 weeks on Wednesdays 6.00pm - 8.00pm commencing April 23rd.  The course leads to 'appointed person' status and they would like to see a mixture of adults and youngsters doing this - so Mums & Dads can study alongside their children.

Workshop skills: This will run for 5 weeks on Tuesdays 6.00pm - 8.00pm commencing March 11th.  The course will focus on basic workshop skills and help you do all those DIY tasks around the home.

Healthy Eating and Food Preparation: This will run for 5 weeks on Tuesdays 6.00pm - 8.00pm commencing April 29th. This will include some practical food preparation and cooking in their well equipped food rooms.  They would like to see parents and their children working together on this one too.

Other courses about to happen include Babysitting (designed for teenagers who want to babysit), Parent Plus classes (bringing up teenagers, this one is for the Mum's & Dad's), Dartmoor letterboxing sessions and outward bound type activities at the Youth Hostel.  Dates of these will follow shortly.  Those people who have already expressed an interest will be contacted shortly.

To enrol for any of the above please ring Okehampton College 01837 650910 and leave a message for Keith Webber or email kwebb@okehamptoncollege.devon.sch.uk

All courses are suitable for adults and children, that's why it's called whole family learning.
