Dear Parents

Christmas is nearly upon us, so here is the list of activities for the rest of the term.

Friday 7th

10.30 a.m. - Theatre Alibi  Once again we are having a visit from this excellent theatre company.  They will show us their production “Lost and Found”.  We will pay this from school funds.

Monday 10th

Christmas Mail  The school post box will be in the entrance hall during the last fortnight of the term (i.e. from 10th December).  Children can use this to send cards to their friends at school - parents can also make use of this free postal service!!

Monday 10th

Pantomime Visit   This year instead of making the journey to Torquay or Exeter , we have decided to have Chaplins visit us here with their production of The Magic Castle.  The cost of this will be £6 per child, as the PFA have provided a subsidy.

Tuesday 11th

Christmas lunch   Roast Turkey and all the trimmings or Vegetarian, Christmas Pudding or Jelly and Ice Cream, price £1.75 per meal.  Usually all the children have this meal and start their Christmas Celebrations together.  If you wish your child/children to have this meal, please sign the slip and return to school by Monday 3rd

Monday 17th

Tuesday 18th

Wednesday 19th

CHRISTMAS PLAY

Our play this year is ‘Bethlehem Bandits’ – yet another musical

take on the Christmas Story, & the usual mix of Christmas

message, & humour.  For the first time in many years, this will be a whole school performance.  Inevitably this means that to

accommodate the children, the parts will be quite small & in many cases one-liners, with just singing for the very youngest children.

All the children will of course be singing, & have been working

with Mrs. Savage.  Costumes will be simple, & thanks to Mrs.

Bonner, we now have quite a few in school so please liaise with

your child’s teacher or Mrs. Bonner.

We have decided to put on 3 performances: Monday 17th December 6pm, Tuesday 18th December 2pm & Wednesday 19th December 6pm.  To avoid overcrowding & considering safety issues, we are going to try a new system.  The evening performances will be ticketed.  There will be an initial allocation of 4 tickets per family, & a limit of 60 tickets per evening performance.  We hope that you can plan for different family members to attend different performances, & suggest very young siblings come to the afternoon performance.  After initial allocation, there may well be spare tickets should you require more.  Tickets will be available from the office week beginning 3rd December, on a first come, first serve basis.

Thursday 20th

1.30 p.m. Party   List for the food will be in the office.

6.00 p.m. Carols around the Tree   The PFA will provide mulled wine and mince pies, and the Christmas draw will be made.
