Thank you to everyone who supported or helped with our production of Bethlehem Bandits.  The children were excellent, and the offering amounted to £73.64 for Shelter Box.

Friday – last day of term

This will be a non uniform day - £1 for Shelter Box.

Pens etc.

The holidays (especially when Santa visits) are a good time to check your child (if in Class 2 or 3) has a good handwriting pen and other necessary equipment for classroom use.  We do have some good quality rollerballs in school for £1.50 each.

Come And Have A Go At Okehampton College

Okehampton College are pleased to offer the following evening activities next term free of charge:

English/Literacy for Parents – A 6 week course on Tuesdays starting 22nd January (5.00pm – 7.00pm) with Kate Diffey (assistant English Faculty leader).  The course is designed to help you understand what your children do in English in years 7, 8 & 9.

Adult Numeracy – A 12 week course on Thursdays starting 24th January (6.00pm – 8.00pm) with Mike Deacon.  At the end of the course you can take the OCR level II literacy exam if you want to.  This is a recognised qualification that many employers look for but taking the exam is optional.

Family First Aid – A 5 Week course in the evenings (day to be fixed).  We want parents to attend this with their children.  It is possible you could end up with the ‘appointed person’ qualification but you can just attend and gain some first aid knowledge without the exam if you prefer.  The course tutor is Ian Sampson.

To reserve places on any of the above courses please contact Keith Webber at the College, 01837 650910 or email kwebb@okehamptoncollege.devon.sch.uk
