Community Science Event at Okehampton College

This will take the form of a family quiz in The Octagon at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 5th February.  You will be shown an interesting 20 minute film on Energy Sources for the Future and then answer questions using our interactive voting system (Qwizdom) - your children will tell you what this involves.

Prizes will include admission tickets for theatre and local rugby/football clubs amongst other goodies.  Entry will be free but you will need book your team in by contacting Keith Webber at the College (01837 650910) kwebb@okehamptoncollege.devon.sch.uk.

Teams need to be no more than 5 in size and must include at least one pupil of Okehampton College and/or local primary schools.

When reserving a slot for you team please state how many are in it so that I can make sure we have enough room in the Octagon.  We can accomodate 200 in the Octagon and in the event that this is oversubscribed we run additional evenings as required.  However, if you want to take part a swift response would be appreciated to allow me to make the necessary arrangements

Meet local Eco-author/artist Rebecca Morch. Rebecca's first book 'Who Will Save Us' is a beautifully illustrated story of five little penguins who are getting very worried about their environment and how it is changing. The book includes lots of practical ideas on how children (and adults) can help combat the effects of climate change. Rebecca has kindly donated 3 signed copies of her book which are being offered as prizes. For the chance to win a book children need to answer to simple questions sharing their opinions on and ideas about how to stop climate change. See - http://www.devon.gov.uk/maxsendstuff-2.htm
